Flash Fiction : My Day

“She’ll laugh.”

Turning into their driveway, his heart raced with anticipation. He shifted the bouquet of roses to open the door.

She waited for him behind the door then fell into his arms. In her scent and sensation, he forgot his funny story and buried his face in her chestnut hair.

“My day? Nothing exciting.”
